Have been interested in classical mythology lately, especially those involving transformations. And, especially amongst those, human-to-animal transformations.
I find it interesting that 1)these are almost always as punishment, and 2)almost always serve to highlight what it was about the human that got them punished to begin with. In this case, it’s Arachne, who was so good at weaving that it offended Athena, who turned her into a spider.
