Edward Hopper

I remembered this painting from a book on Edward Hopper I was given several years ago. The accompanying description notes all the subtle visual clues that indicate the young woman’s sexuality, such as the open door, the sheer quality of her dress, and the parted curtains in the window. I find this approach pretty interesting; using the surrounding environment to tell a story about the subject.
