Rather than scan in the whole book, I’ve found a YouTube clip of a reading by the book’s author, Bill Martin Jr.
I’ve decided that it would be a good idea for me to employ a similar rhyming scheme in my book. By “similar,” I don’t mean I’m going to rip this one off, I just mean that it will be relatively simple. Perhaps not quite as much so as in “Brown Bear,” since mine will have more of a plot, but the bulk of it will retain a similar structure – the main tiger character will walk around, talking to different animals about their various qualities. I want the dialog structure for all of these pages to be within the same format, for the sake of repetition learning, which is why I think a rhyming scheme would come in quite handy.
